What can I do before I arrive at the facility or home?
It’s recommended to take your temperature and review the online screening tool before arriving to avoid an unnecessary trip and disappointment.
Why are the listed symptoms different for long-term care and other locations?
Our residents in long-term care are considered especially vulnerable, we have a longer list of symptoms and a lower temperature screening, as recommended by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
What if I fail my screening?
If your screening results do not allow you to enter and you'd like to know about options to support someone receiving care at an SHA facility, please contact your facility care team or the SHA’s Family Presence Support Team.
Note that some information may be updated or change, pending how COVID-19 evidence continues to evolve. It is important to maintain a balance between these recommendations and patient/resident needs.
