Saskatchewan Academic Health Sciences Network
The Saskatchewan Academic Health Sciences Network (SAHSN) was formed in 2002 to provide a vehicle for collaboration and joint planning among the three sectors involved in the academic health sciences:
- Post-secondary institutions,
- Health regions, and
Governance is provided by a board comprised of senior executive organizations from these three sectors.
The partners include:
- Saskatchewan Health Authority
- University of Saskatchewan
- Saskatchewan Polytechnic
- University of Regina
- Government of Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan Academic Health Sciences Network (SAHSN) enables the effective interface of the health services system and the post-secondary system so that health science graduates are prepared to meet the current and emerging needs of the health system to achieve the best possible health outcomes for the people of Saskatchewan.
To stimulate and empower effective inter-system planning, direction and accountability so that the post-secondary educational system meets the current and emerging needs of the health services system and that the health services system provides the necessary supports for the academic mission of post-secondary institutions with respect to both the education of future health workers and the generation of new knowledge.
