A number of Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities are experiencing disruptions today due to unplanned power outages across the province.
Outages are being experienced primarily in Regina and the southern and eastern parts of the province. Each individual health care site has emergency plans in place in case of a power outage and those plans are being enacted.
It’s important to note that our health care facilities have access to back up generators and continue to support our critical care systems. If you are experiencing a medical emergency you can still continue to access our emergency departments.
We are monitoring the situation at health care facilities in each of our communities that are affected by this outage to ensure we are able to provide care to our patients and residents during this time.
As the situation fluctuates throughout the day, you can find updates on where the power outages are occurring by looking at the SaskPower outages map.
Please connect back with our Saskatchewan Health Authority social media channels on twitter and Facebook for updates on our facilities as they come available.
