The Saskatchewan Health Authority has been advised by eHealth Saskatchewan that network services have been shut down at the La Ronge Health Centre. This decision is in response to recent detections of malware activity. Closing off network services at the facility has isolated the virus. eHealth Saskatchewan has indicated that there is no evidence to suggest personal health information has been compromised.
All necessary operational precautions to mitigate risks are being taken in response to this network outage.
Health services and daily operations, including local emergency services, continue to be available at the facility. Patients with the most urgent needs will be seen first, as always.
Several internal systems have become unavailable due to the restricted network access. Where necessary, departments have switched to manual processes. This may result in minor delays. Patients may be contacted to reschedule non-urgent appointments.
An estimate on when network services will be restored is not currently known.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is asking patients in La Ronge and area who are experiencing cold or flu like symptoms to visit the La Ronge Medical Clinic. The hours at the Medical Clinic are 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
