The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is reminding everyone that there is an increase in community transmission of COVID-19 cases in the City of Saskatoon. With this increased activity, please be aware of the following relative to SHA facilities within the City of Saskatoon:
Universal Masking Now in Place Immediately at all SHA Saskatoon Facilities:
- All patients, visitors, and health care providers are now required to wear a mask at all times while within a SHA facility or home, even if they can maintain a two-meter physical distance, are visiting outside on SHA property, or in non-clinical areas. Please note that patients may be granted exemptions to this as directed by their health-care provider, depending on their personal health situation.
- All other screening protocols remain in place.
Scheduled Appointments or Surgeries
- Any impact on patient appointments or surgeries will be communicated directly with the patient.
Visitor Restrictions at Hospitals and SHA Long-Term Care Homes
- Visitation access has not changed at this point. The latest visitor restrictions can be found on the province’s COVID website under guidance for Health Care facilities at Saskatchewan.ca/COVID19.
- Our staff will continue to allow patient supports where it is safe to do so. Please note that in some departments, like the Emergency Department, support people may be limited and assessed on a case by case basis.
We encourage all Saskatchewan residents to follow all public health recommendations and ensuring you do your part to stop the spread. We encourage everyone to consider signing up for The Health Canada COVID Alert app as it is available to all Saskatchewan residents at no cost in the Apple and Google Play app store. The app is another tool available to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19 by letting people know of possible exposures without sharing any personal information. For more information, visit the
COVID-19 Apps webpage.
