The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) continues to work on planning a safe re-opening of emergency services in Wolseley with stable and predictable staffing.
The criteria for re-opening emergency and acute care services will depend on factors including adequate human resources, skill enhancement and training, separation of staff and the physical separation of space.
Recruitment of the appropriate health care providers continues to be challenging in Wolseley. The SHA has successfully filled the Combined Lab X-ray Technician (CLXT) position, and is recruiting for Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) positions in order to resume full hospital services in Wolseley. The timing of service resumption will depend on those activities.
As an organization, the SHA wants the Wolseley facility to be a place where people want to work. To better support the needs of our staff, a Human Resources Business Partner will start at Wolseley on November 2, 2020. This resource will work alongside the management team, and allow health care managers to spend more time with their staff and clients.
The SHA fully supports the management team at the Wolseley facility, and their efforts to provide the best care to the people we all serve. Our shared goal is that management and staff are a team working together, each with responsibilities to provide the best care possible to our clients.
For non-emergency care, physician and nurse practitioner appointments are available Monday to Friday by calling the Wolseley Primary Health Care Clinic at 306-698-4444.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority appreciates the understanding and support of the community during this temporary disruption of emergency services, and will provide updates on any new developments.
