The Saskatchewan Health Authority is advising the public that a drinking water advisory is currently in effect at Royal University Hospital (RUH), Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH), and the Saskatoon Cancer Centre (SCC) as the result of a water line break at RUH earlier this morning.
No potable water is available for patients or staff in any of these facilities until further notice. Bottled water is being provided for patients and staff. All patients and their designated support persons are advised to bring their own disposable water source if they are coming to RUH, JPCH, or SCC until further notice. Refillable water bottles should not be brought on site to avoid the possible spread of infection, including COVID-19.
As the result of the water line break, some surgical services were delayed but none have been postponed. Some laboratory services may also be delayed however, there is no impact to COVID-19 testing.
SCC was temporarily closed this morning and all patient appointments are being rescheduled. The Dubé Centre for Mental Health is not affected.
The status of the water advisory will be updated as more information becomes available.
