The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) would like to advise residents of Herbert and surrounding area that emergency services will resume at Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility effective 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Emergency services will initially be available between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. In the event of an after-hours emergency, call 9-1-1 or visit the emergency department at Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current or Dr. F. H. Wigmore Hospital in Moose Jaw.
Lab and x-ray services will continue to be available by appointment. Non-urgent health related questions can be directed to the provincial HealthLine by calling 8-1-1.
The SHA is working toward increasing emergency services at Herbert and District Integrated Care Facility to 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Emergency room services are expected to return to 24 hour operation when all new nursing staff have completed additional training and orientation.
Herbert and District Integrated Care Facility is expected to transition from only accepting Alternate Level of Care (ALC) admissions to resuming acute care inpatient services beginning on Monday, June 7, 2021.
Due to increased COVID-19 activity and the required realignment of health services to support patient care, emergency services at Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility have been unavailable since November 26, 2020.
While the COVID-19 vaccine is distributed across the province in a targeted, phased approach, Saskatchewan residents are reminded that all residents can help the health system meet the demand created by the COVID-19 virus. Please help us stop the spread of the virus:
