The public is reminded that in order to keep everyone safe during this time, family presence/visitation in long-term care continues to be restricted to Level 3 in the City of Regina, Emerald Park, Lumsden and Cupar. Level 3 Family Presence means that in long-term care homes, two family/support members can be present at the same time for end-of-life care only. One essential family/support person can be designated to assist with care if needed (self-care, mobility, nutrition and behavioural needs). Local Medical Health Officers (MHOs) have reviewed this Level 3 restriction and made an adjustment to allow for limited outdoor visitation to occur for homes not in outbreak.
Outdoor visits in Regina, Emerald Park, Lumsden and Cupar care homes can occur with up to two (2) family members/support people from the same household at one time. Family members and support people who visit their loved ones outdoors are reminded to:
Local MHOs will continue to review family presence/visitation restrictions weekly and will advise when care homes can begin allowing increased visitation.
The decision to restrict family presence is not taken lightly. These measures are in place to keep you, your loved ones and healthcare workers safe. The Saskatchewan Health Authority is asking the public for their support and cooperation in order to contain the spread of the virus.
