Access to timely patient information is critical for clinicians across the healthcare system, particularly now as we mobilize to manage the pandemic. One of the foundational pieces of the Digital Health strategy is improving information flow to clinicians. In support of that goal, Digital Health has collaborated with eHealth Saskatchewan to develop a new streamlined approval process that will facilitate all eligible providers to gain access to the provincial eHR Viewer.
The provincial eHR Viewer provides access to the following information for all patients in Saskatchewan:
- Lab results – including COVID swab results;
- Medical Imaging Reports;
- ED MD Assessment (physician documentation of an ED visit);
- Transcribed documents from the provincial dictation service;
- Immunization information;
- Prescription information; and
- Patient demographics and visit history.
Every former region had different approval processes and policies. Going forward, staff who fall under one of the approved roles can simply be directed to the
eHR Viewer website and apply for an account.
NOTE: Staff must apply using their SHA email address. Staff must identify their role and must choose SKHEALTH as their organization. Choosing any other organization will direct the request through the former regional approval process and will cause delays in gaining access.
The current approved roles are:
- RN/RPN
- LPN
- Respiratory Therapy
- Physio Therapy
- Infection Control Practitioner
- Dietitian
- Medical Imaging Technicians
- Medical Lab Technicians
- Chronic Disease Educators
- Nurse Practitioners
- Midwife
- Radiation Therapists

- Pharmacy Assistants/Pharmacy Technologists
- Pharmacy Interns
- Health Record Staff
- Occupational Therapists
