On June 24, volunteer therapy dog teams were honoured at the St. John Ambulance volunteer awards in Regina. These St. John Ambulance therapy dog teams assisted in the aftermath of the Humboldt Broncos bus accident both in hospital and within impacted communities.
“Volunteers make a difference to the health care experience for patients and residents, their families and friends,” says Laurie Korol, Manager of Volunteer Workforce at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. “They also make a meaningful contribution to operations by supporting staff and physicians in their daily activities. Congratulations on your award.”
Therapy Dog Team Lieutenant Governor Honourable Thomas Molloy presented the Order of St. John (not listed in order) to Colleen Dell and Subie, Justin Morrison and Jet, Stephanie Peachey and Dude, Gwendolyn Stoeber and Womble, Nicolette Creighton and Leroy, Kimberly Davy and Payton, Teri Rotherburger and Ernie, and missing from the photo, Jane Smith and Murphy and Anne McElroy and Chalkie.
