Residents of Cabri and the surrounding area now have improved access to quality, everyday health services, provided by a team of health professionals. A full-time nurse practitioner and visiting physician have joined the primary health care team at the recently upgraded Cabri Medical Clinic.
In addition to the full-time nurse practitioner and visiting physician available one day per week, residents can see pharmacists, dietitians, health educators and public health staff at the Cabri Medical Clinic. The team provides a range of health care services including treating common illnesses, writing prescriptions and ordering x-rays and lab tests. The team also facilitates referrals to specialists, navigation through the health system and hospital care. Team members coordinate care through a secure electronic medical records system, which was introduced as part of the new primary health care model. Long-term care services will continue to be provided at the Prairie Health Care Centre in Cabri.
The grand opening event took place on Friday, November 16.
