November is no ordinary month for the paramedic team in Regina. Every year, for the past several years, many of them have joined the Movember movement, raising awareness and funds for men’s health.
“Every year our participant team seems to get bigger,” said Nikkoli Hubic, Movember team lead for the Regina Paramedics. “Everyone always puts in a huge effort. This year our Chief, Ken Luciak, even shaved off the mustache he’s had his whole adult life just so he could regrow it for Movember!”

Both men and women can participate in Movember. In addition to growing facial hair for the month, participants can take on a MOVE challenge to log physical activity minutes. The Regina paramedic team also made it more fun by challenging other paramedic teams around Canada.
“Our team has once again exceeded our fundraising target,” explained Hubick. “We’re already at $11,000 and there are still a few weeks if people want to contribute. You can find out more here - https://moteam.co/reginaparamedics.”
Movember raises awareness and fundraises for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health and suicide prevention.
