Saskatchewan’s Health System Restructuring Transition Team was recognized recently for leading the transition to a single health authority.
On November 25, Beth Vachon, Vice President of Quality, Safety and Strategy for the Saskatchewan Health Authority, accepted the silver medal in the IPAC (Institute of Public Administration of Canada) Public Sector Leadership and Excellence Awards. The award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership in public services.
Vachon served as lead of the transition team, which was driven by a commitment to improve the efficiency of the health system, to reduce duplication of effort and, ultimately, to improve frontline patient care for people across the province.
The Transition team was nominated for the award by the province, having previously won the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Public Service in 2018. This recognizes employees who have made outstanding on-the-job contributions to the government and citizens of the province, while exemplifying the province’s core values of respect, service to citizens, excellence, innovation, and acting as a team.
