On June 16, the Saskatchewan Health Authority launched the new sub-brand Moms & Kids Health Saskatchewan (moms & kids). This brand is part of Maternal & Children’s Programs and represent all children’s and maternal services delivered through the provincial program. Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH), which will open this fall, is part of moms & kids.
The Mom & Kids Health Saskatchewan Logo
The name “moms & kids” describes the patients who directly receive care through the program, while the logo represents the patient and family centered model of care we deliver. The handprint in the logo contains a set of figures. To some, the figures represent a pregnant woman and partner, support person, or maybe another child. Others see a parent holding a newborn, or even a healthcare worker next to a patient or patient’s family. The handprint is made of five colors, which represent Saskatchewan’s natural landscape.
Along with the brand, we’ve also created a website dedicated to moms & kids. The current site provides basic information on what programs and services are offered under moms & kids. Work is now underway to build a larger site, offering more detailed information on programs and services.
“Almost 800 SHA staff, patients, community partners, and members of the public participated in workshops, interviews and surveys”, said Carrie Dornstauder, Executive Director of Maternal and Children’s Provincial Programs. “Their experiences, perspectives and guidance shaped the brand and website.”
The information included on the site will be a direct result of stakeholder feedback. The website’s focus is to make navigating the health-care system easier by creating an online tool that makes it simpler for patients and families to know what programs, services and specialists are available, where they are located, and how to access them.
The larger site will be available in the fall, and will continue to grow after its launch.
