The Canadian Pharmacists Association has named Michael Stuber of Regina their Canadian Pharmacist of the Year.
Stuber is a clinical pharmacist at Regina General Hospital Infectious Diseases clinic and is part of a team that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of HIV. Stuber works with the Saskatchewan HIV Collaborative and also runs the only pharmacist led pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) clinic in Canada. He is also Chair of the Canadian HIV and Viral Hepatitis Pharmacists Network (CHAP).
While being honoured at a ceremony in Toronto on June 3, Stuber said “Working with people living with and at risk of HIV infection has been the most rewarding work of my career. It’s a huge honour to be recognized on a national stage for the work being done in Saskatchewan.”
