Each year the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Medicine – Regina Campus recognizes a patient-care area that greatly supports medical education learners. The Most Learner-Friendly Unit award is voted on by the residents and medical students and presented during National Nursing Week. This year the award went to the Regina General Hospital’s Inpatient Mental Health Unit - which includes 1D and the Adolescent Unit.
The Associate Dean of the Regina campus, Dr. Gill White, presented the award to members of Inpatient Mental Health during an appreciation event on the unit May 7. The nursing staff play a very significant role in supporting medical learners but the entire team of workers is recognized, as everyone who interacts with the learners contributes to their educational experience on the unit. This is the 12th time the College of Medicine has recognized one of the units with the award.
Along with this special recognition for Inpatient Mental Health, the College of Medicine would like to thank all Saskatchewan Health Authority staff and physicians for the time they dedicate to making the Regina campus a great place to work and learn.
