Two years of flipping burgers and feeding colleagues has paid off for Melfort Hospital staff who recently completed landscaping and furnishing their outdoor patio.
The generosity of community sponsors and two years of staff barbecue fundraisers has paid off for the staff at Melfort Hospital, who are enjoying new landscaping and furnishings in their outdoor patio space.
Sterner Trucking of Melfort donated gravel, crushed rock and completed all of the excavating required in the patio that is situated right behind the hospital. Shrubs donated by Cindy’s Independent surround the perimeter, and an assortment of picnic tables, purchased with the proceeds of the staff barbecues, provide seating for socializing under the sun.
The creativity and labours of an annual flower pot competition between departments provide the final decorative touch on the space. Each department is given a pot to fill and all staff have the opportunity to vote on their favourites. Pharmacy was this year’s winner, with their low maintenance rock garden.
Flowerpots created by various staff departments add the final touch to the finished patio space. The Pharmacy department’s low maintenance rock garden-themed pot was a big hit among staff.
