Nurses in Regina General Hospital's Surgical Intensive Care Unit have created a T-shirt with a local apparel shop to fund free curbside lunches for children in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The shirts, emblazoned with the message "Together We are Strong," and available in a variety of colours and sizes, were designed by the nurses and can be purchased on the
Soles and Suits Athletic Apparel website.
"So many people were supporting front line workers and we're grateful for that but we also wanted to find a way to give back to the community. I saw the curbside lunch program on Instagram and everyone agreed this would be the perfect way to contribute," said Michelle Isaac, manager of Surgical Intensive Care.
Five dollars from the sale of every T-shirt is donated to The Reverse School Bus lunch program, organized by Kam Bahia (@her_unfiltered on Instagram) in collaboration with the Lobby Kitchen and Bar (@thelobbykb).
As of May 5, 207 T-shirts had been purchased resulting in $1,035 being donated to the curbside lunch program.
