Virtual Visit at Home
What is a Virtual Visit?
A virtual visit is just like a regular medical appointment; the only difference is that you will see and talk to your health-care provider from the comfort of your home.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is currently using Pexip for all clinical virtual visits.
Top 3 health areas doing Virtual Visits:
- Mental Health & Addictions
- Speech Language Pathology
- Tuberculosis Prevention
Ask your health-care provider if a Virtual Visit is an option for you!
What do I need for a Virtual Visit?
Virtual visits are easy to do!
If you have a personal email address and access to the internet, have a personal computer with a webcam, speaker and microphone, or a smartphone/tablet - you've got all the skills and equipment.
Read the Virtual Care Guide for Patients from the Canadian Medical Association to learn more about getting ready for a Virtual Visit.
How does it work?
Your health-care provider will send you an email with instructions for the appointment. Didn't get an email? Call their office to make sure they have the right email address.
For the best experience, test your system or device a couple days before your appointment:
- Joining a Pexip Virtual Meeting Room
- If using a computer/laptop, make sure you can open the website - we recommend using a Google Chrome web browser.
- If using a smartphone/tablet, download and install the Pexip application.
Is a Virtual Visit private?
Just like in-person appointments, your virtual visit is safe and secure. Your privacy is important to us. We recommend you find a private space before joining your Virtual Visit:
