Course Description

Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue is a LEADS-aligned professional development course designed primarily for Out-of-scope (OOS) managers who are responsible for leading a team.

Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue combines the convenience of virtual learning with the benefits of live instruction. Our virtual instructor-led course ensures an engaging and spaced learning experience that meets the unique needs and demands of the modern learner. This course is delivered via 5 weekly, 2.5 hour interactive virtual workshops.

The course is organized into cohorts and participants will learn alongside the same group of leaders throughout. A cohort approach provides opportunities for relationship building, networking, and contributes to an environment where participants regularly learn from the insights and lived experiences of others in the course.

Participant information

Crucial Conversations training is open to all OOS supervisors with responsibility for leading a team. Priority in 2026 is to provide Crucial Conversations training to OOS managers across the province.  

Course Information

Format:

• Five-week series of 2.5-hour workshops
• Online, highly engaged interactive WebEx workshops
• Attendance at all 5 workshops is mandatory to receive a completion certificate
• Microphone and camera required
• Cohort size limited to 24 people

Prior to registering, we encourage all interested participants to meet with your supervisor first to ensure their support and to confirm you are able to fully participate in all sessions of the Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue program. While we understand things come up and plans change, it is expected that registered participants are able to attend and participate in 100% of Crucial Conversations programming.
