Resources for New Hires
Welcome to the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA)!
To help create a smooth welcome and orientation process, the following resources are created to help you to get to know the SHA and navigate the onboarding processes.

Before Your Letter of Offer
Before you are provided with a Letter of Offer, your hiring manager, or their support person, will reach out and request the following documents. These documents will help to confirm you meet the job qualifications as specified in the job description.
These documents include:
- Proof of Education
- Saskatchewan Licensure specific to the position
- Membership/Registrations specific to the position
- Driver's License and/or abstract, if required by the position
- Study or Work Permit if required.
- Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Search (CRC/VSC).
- Your manager will provide you with a letter of support when requesting a CRC with VSC
- CRCs performed by a third party provider are not acceptable
- CRCs must be dated within the past six (6) months
- Safety Training Certificates you may already have including:
- Transfer, Lifting and Repositioning (TLR)
- Professional Assault Response Training (PART) or Workplace Assessment & Violence Training (WAVE)
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 2015
You will also receive an email from Sask Health Services that will request you add your SIN and Date of Birth to our system directly. This email is sometimes mistaken for spam but allows you to protect your personal information by entering it directly into the SHA 's HR system.
Receiving your Letter of Offer
Your Letter of Offer will also come from Sask Health Services email. Please watch for this to ensure there are no delays to your recruitment.
Shortly after you have received your Letter of Offer, HR will contact you directly with a number of actions required before your first day, and information related to your online orientation to be completed on your first day of employment. Please review the New Hire Navigation document, linked above, to help you navigate these tasks.
Before your start date
Congratulations, you've accepted your offer and now you wait for your start date!
Your will receive a welcome package from HR with forms for you to complete before your start date, and orientation information to complete on your start date. Please complete the pre-boarding package requested as soon as you receive it to avoid delays in your onboarding and pay.
Photo Identification Directions
Please provide your hiring leader with a photo identification in the next couple of days following the directions below. This can be taken with your phone and does not need to be a professional photo.
Your photo identification access card serves to identify you as an employee of the SHA. It is mandatory to wear your identification while performing your job duties.
Photo Requirements:
- Must be recently taken
- Must reflect your current appearance
- Be from shoulders up, front view
- Have a white/light background
- Ensure there is ample room around the head for cropping
- Keep hair off face
- No filters
- Prescription glasses may be worn
- No reflection from the glasses that obscure the eyes
- No sunglasses
- No fashion headwear (hats, headbands)
- Head covering due to religious beliefs are acceptable
- Be provided as a JPG file format and less than 1MB in file size.

- 3sHealth Benefits at a Glance; a document that provides detailed information about your various benefits for most SHA Employees. If there is an exception our benefits team will be in contact.
- The SHA has onsite and offsite parking options, bike compounds and public transportation options. These vary depending on your location. Utilize the forms on the page and follow the identified processes, you do not need to wait for direction from your manager.
- TELUS Health orientation sessions; these optional sessions provide detailed information about the employee family assistance program that is part of your benefits
- SHA Mentorship program; this link is optional mentorship program that you can enroll in. This program requires manager approval so please seek this before applying.
