Advanced Analytics

Our Purpose

The Advanced Analytics team provides data driven insights for decision makers to advance health and wellbeing for people in Saskatchewan.

Advanced Analytics is comprised of three teams that are responsible for providing information, reporting, and analytics services to the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) to support planning, evaluation, and monitoring of health services across the province of Saskatchewan.

Advanced Analytics produces reporting and analytics products to support decision-making, performance improvement & pulling information together to tell the story for a deeper understanding with decision makers across the SHA. This includes the development of performance outcome and process measures, operational reporting, statistical analysis, advanced analytics and modeling to enable evidence-based decision making. Additionally, the department is responsible for the development, implementation, and compliance of data and analytics governance policies and practices.

Core Functions

• ​Expertise in the development, production and maintenance of data assets and flows, including data acquisition, access, information flow engineering, and repository design and management.
• Expertise in the design and delivery of analytics products that align with SHA strategic and operational plans, in collaboration with health system partners
• Synthesize health care system data and model health systems design to improve organizational decision-making.
• Promote an insights-driven culture that utilizes reporting and analytics solutions in progression toward a data mature organization.
• Promotes the authority, accountability and control for enterprise information assets and analytics management are formalized and consistently applied.
• Optimizing the application of data governance principles to the life-cycle of data assets.
• ​Expertise in Health Information Management by ensuring alignment with SHA confidentiality and privacy policies to protect patients and their information.
