Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Prevention clinical documents and policy are available for training purposes, effective May 14, 2026.
The VTE Prevention Program is a provincial initiative that supports standardized, evidence-based practices to reduce the risk of venous thromboembolism in hospitalized adult patients.
Implementation will occur in three phases to support safe and consistent adoption across the province. This includes a training phase beginning May 14, 2026, a pilot phase in Saskatoon starting July 15, 2026, and a provincial rollout planned for September 16, 2026.
In preparation for the provincial “go live” date, the resources below are available to support clinical teams in training and implementing evidence‑based VTE prevention practices.
