Practitioner Appointments & Privileges
Once you've been appointed to the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Practitioner Staff, Practitioner Staff Affairs (PSA) supports you throughout your appointment by coordinating:
- Reappointments
- Changes to appointments and privileges
- Leaves of absence
- Changes to practice or personal information
Reappointments
Who needs to be reappointed?
Eligible practitioners on the Active, Telemedicine, and Visiting staff.
- Reappointments are typically required before your current appointment expires.
- Appointment terms are generally two years and do not exceed five years.
How to complete your reappointment
Eligible practitioners will receive an invitation through the Clinical Management and Reappointment System (CMaRS).
Using the CMaRS Practitioner Portal, you can:
- Complete your reappointment application.
- Upload required documentation.
- Track your application.
Before you begin
- Review your appointment information.
- Update required documentation.
- Maintain your professional license.
- Respond promptly to requests.
- Submit your application by the deadline.
What happens next?
- PSA and physician leaders review your application.
- Your application is considered under the Practitioner Staff Bylaws.
- You'll be notified of the decision.
- Once approved, your appointment and privileges continue.
Changes to Your appointment or Privileges
Contact Practitioner Staff Affairs if you need to request changes to your appointment or practitioner record.
Common requests include:
- Appointment category or privileges
- Contact information
- Department or division
- Leave of absence
- Legal name
- Practice location
- Return from leave
- Resignation or retirement
What happens next?
- Submit any required forms or supporting documentation.
- Your request is reviewed in accordance with the Practitioner Staff Bylaws.
- Practitioner Staff Affairs will notify you once a decision has been made.
- Approved changes will be updated in your practitioner record.
