A look at Regina NICU expansion to support more babies and families

Families across southern Saskatchewan will benefit from expanded neonatal intensive care capacity as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Regina General Hospital increases to 28 beds from 25.

The expansion will ensure babies continue to receive high-quality specialized care in the right place at the right time.  

“As a result of these beds opening, we're going to be able to provide the high-quality care that the babies and families deserve,” said Charlene Huber-Flair manager of Regina General Hospital NICU

Thanks to support from the Government of Saskatchewan and the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, the upgrade maximizes existing space within the unit, adding more beds, ventilators, isolates, pumps, and other critical equipment needed to keep neonates safe.
