Volunteering with the Saskatchewan Health Authority
Volunteering has shown to contribute to healthy mental and physical health, reduces stress and provides fulfilment and a sense of purpose. Volunteering offers critical support to people in need in your community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer.
The right volunteering role in the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) can help you connect with local friends, community members and learn new skills while being a member of the Volunteering Team. Did you know that volunteering also looks great on a resume if you are looking into a new career path?
Volunteer Services thanks you for reaching out to find opportunities in your community.
If you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
Where can I volunteer?
The SHA offers a variety of positions that can work around your busy schedule! Check the map to see what service area your community is in. Below, click on the area you are interested in volunteering in to see what positions are available.
Volunteer Services is excited to support Saskatchewan's Health Human Resource Action Plan by providing Job Shadow opportunities for Grade 11 and 12 High School students, Post-Secondary Students, the community and current SHA employees.
Job Shadows provide individuals an opportunity to observe an SHA employee within a health-care environment as they carry out their daily duties. This experience will help individuals determine if the health-care role fits their personality or their professional goals prior to entering a field of employment or education.
Job Shadows are:
- available in placements of 4 or 8 hour durations;
- a one-time/single location placement opportunity;
- available in a variety of areas/locations, but does not include physician shadowing or surgical/critical care placements including Emergency Departments.
Each application will be assessed from an operational perspective based on ability to support the request in a particular community or department.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information; be sure to include the community and placement area in your request.
