Family Presence Frequently Asked Questions
Can I arrange my visit ahead of time?
Yes. Scheduling visits with the care team ahead of time is helpful and encouraged. Please contact your care team.
Do I have to wear a mask in a SHA facility?
Yes. Everyone entering an SHA facility is still required to wear a medical mask. In Long Term Care, masks are required in common areas but no longer required in residents' rooms, unless the resident is COVID positive and on precautions. Masks will be available at the screening stations.
Who can I contact if I don't agree with a decision made about family presence?
Contact your local Quality of Care Coordinator.
Who can I contact with questions about First Nations and Métis Health care?
First Nations and Métis Health concerns can be submitted via your local Quality of Care Coordinator.
Note that some information may be updated or changed, pending how COVID-19 evidence continues to evolve. It is important to maintain a balance between these recommendations and patient/resident needs.
