Role overview
The SCPOR Mentorship Program helps to ensure people engaging in patient-oriented research with SCPOR have the tools they need to succeed! Patient Partner mentors who have been engaged in research share their own personal experiences, provide tips and tricks for meaningful engagement and support the development of mentees’ knowledge, skills and goals. Mentorship leads to beneficial relationships and can be a rewarding experience for everyone. Our program invites Mentors who are currently engaged with SCPOR and have experience on at least one patient-oriented research project and Mentees who are interested in learning more about patient-oriented research or wish to become a Patient Partner.
Required knowledge, experience, skills
Mentors: Currently engaged with SCPOR and has had experience on at least one patient-oriented research project. Mentees: No experience required.Time commitment
3 one-hour connection times to be determined between the Mentor and Mentee.

What can you expect from the research team?
The Patient Engagement Team will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
Supports available to participate
Mentors will receive Honoraria for 3 one-hour meetings. Mentees do not receive Honoraria but will receive knowledge of patient oriented research.
