EMS services "Fill the Rig" for local food banks
In appreciation of the support shown to them, EMS Services teams in the Central West region held two “Fill the Rig” food drives in December.
The initiatives brought in enough donations to support around 155 families during the holiday season.
EMS Services have benefited from strong community support, including equipment purchases that have enhanced operational capacity and strengthened the delivery of safe, effective emergency care. At the same time, teams recognize that many individuals and families are experiencing an increase in financial pressures, especially during the holidays. This is also the time when the demand for local food banks rises significantly.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority values the ongoing partnership between EMS providers and the communities they serve, which reflects our shared commitment to safety, accountability and equity.
The teams extend their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative. This marked the first annual “Fill the Rig” food drive; staff look forward to continuing it in future years and expanding it to additional communities.
