Comfort on the Menu, one meal at a time
Staying in the hospital is never easy, but mealtime at Jim Pattison Children's Hospital has gotten a little more comforting.
Since launching last fall, the hospital's mobile food ordering program has given young patients the ability to browse a full menu right from their smart devices, and have their chosen meal delivered directly to their room.
The menu has something for everyone, from familiar favourites like pizza and chicken nuggets, to stir-fries, pastas and soups, giving patients real variety during their stay.
It's a simple change, but one with meaningful impact. For children in hospital, having a sense of control can make a real difference. Being able to choose their own meals on their own schedule is one small way to bring comfort during a challenging time.
The Ready, Seat, Eat! Program reflects a broader commitment at the Saskatchewan Health Authority to improving the patient experience beyond the clinical — recognizing that comfort, dignity and choice are all part of healing.
For families at Jim Pattison Children's Hospital, it's an opportunity to offer their child flexibility, comfort, and a little joy — letting them choose what they want, when they want it.
