Operationalization in action at the new Weyburn General Hospital

Teams are working every day in the new Weyburn General Hospital to transform the building into a fully functioning hospital, which is scheduled to open to patients later this year.  

Construction of the new hospital was completed in late April 2026, and the project is now in the operationalization phase. Ongoing work includes coordinating scheduled deliveries of furniture, fixtures and equipment, staff orientation and training and coordinated patient-move planning.  

Additional and enhanced features of the new Weyburn General Hospital are designed to improve patient care, efficiency and staff experience. These include private inpatient rooms, on-site mental health services, co-location of Emergency Medical Services, a helipad and a large, new operating room.
