Temporary relocation of RUH Emergency Department waiting room
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is focused on providing safe, quality care to the people of Saskatchewan at its facilities.
On August 6, 2026, a leak in a water line occurred in the emergency department at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, resulting in the temporary closure of a waiting room and an adjacent washroom. An alternate waiting room has been established adjacent to the closed area, and the washroom is now reopened. There has been no impact to emergency department operations. Public are asked to follow posted signage to the temporary waiting room.
Repairs and space remediation are underway. The temporary closure of the waiting room is expected to last approximately 7 days.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we complete the repairs. The waiting room will reopen when it is safe for patients and staff.
