Celebrating the impact of our youth volunteers across Saskatchewan
SHA is grateful to the youth volunteers who give their time during the summer and throughout the school year. Their kindness, energy, and enthusiasm make a meaningful difference for patients, residents, families and staff across Saskatchewan.
“The compassion, energy, and enthusiasm the youth volunteers bring each day is truly remarkable. Their presence brings comfort, connection, and moments of joy that are simply priceless,” said Dana, Prince Albert Victoria Hospital staff.
Youth volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels, help people find their way in facilities, support recreation programs, and spend time connecting with residents. One Regina volunteer shared that the most meaningful part was “talking with [residents] about what their lives were and connecting it with mine.”
Volunteering also inspires future careers in health care. As one Saskatoon youth said, “now that I have seen how the hospital works, I feel more empowered and ready to enter a medical field.”
Thank you to all the youth volunteers, you bring youthful warmth and joy to SHA in all you do.
