Paramedic works to ensure young ATV riders have helmets
Saskatchewan Health Authority paramedics like Cameron Harrison are not only responding to emergencies, they're working to prevent them.
Recognizing the importance of injury prevention, Harrison took the initiative to write to businesses and secure 12 donated ATV helmets for young riders in the Beauval area. By making protective equipment more accessible, he is helping encourage safer riding habits and fostering a culture of prevention within the community.
"Cameron's proactive approach demonstrates the power of injury prevention and a strong commitment to protecting young riders and strengthening community safety," said Sherri Julé, Director/Chief, Emergency Medical Services North, Provincial Community Paramedicine.
Helmets were donated by
• FXR Saskatoon
• Proline Motorsports
• Recreation Supply Co.
• True North Powersports (Prince Albert)
• FFun Motorsports Saskatoon (donated six helmets)
• Rally Motorsports
The initiative reflects the broader commitment of Emergency Medical Services teams in La Loche, Beauval, Buffalo Narrows and Île-à-la-Crosse to improve community health beyond emergency response. Through education, outreach, and prevention initiatives, they are helping reduce the risk of serious injuries and supporting safer communities for everyone.
