SHA increases frequency of emergency service disruption updates
Beginning Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) will provide updates on emergency service disruptions twice daily, at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., seven days a week. All emergency service disruptions, regardless of their length, are posted publicly on the SHA service disruption web page.
“The Saskatchewan Health Authority’s priority is to ensure high-quality emergency services are available in communities across the province, and our teams make every effort to avoid disruptions wherever possible,” said SHA Chief Operating Officer Derek Miller. “When temporary disruptions do occur, we are committed to providing timely and accurate information for patients, families and communities to help ensure people can make informed decisions about where to seek care.”
As part of the SHA’s commitment to providing reliable and accurate information about the availability of emergency services, the SHA began publicly reporting all emergency service disruptions through daily updates in November 2025. The SHA’s emergency service disruption web page provides an alphabetical listing of all SHA facilities experiencing disruptions to emergency services. Disruptions to emergency services are also reflected on individual Facility & Location pages on the SHA’s website.
In addition to web postings, Healthline 811, operated by the SHA, has real-time information regarding the availability of emergency services across the province. Patients and residents are able to call Healthline 811 at any time for advice regarding service availability, or for health guidance from Registered Nurses and other qualified health professionals. Disruption notices are also posted at local facilities and shared locally within communities.
In any life-threatening emergency, always call 9-1-1. Paramedics will assess, treat, and transport patients to the nearest available site for further medical attention.
