- Anti-centromere antibodies have a distinct pattern that can be recognized on ANA slides and no reflex testing is necessary.
- Please order Anti-nuclear antibodies(ANA) if Centromere is suspected

Required volume
- Optimal Volume: 5.0 ml Full collection tube
- Minimum Volume: 1.0 ml
(Submitting the minimum volume makes it impossible to repeat the test or perform confirmatory/reflex testing. In some situations, a minimum volume may require a second collection)
Transport and stability
- Serum must be removed from cells within 4 hours of collection
- Serum must be removed from gel as soon as possible after receipt in the laboratory
- Stable for 4 days at 2-8°C
Rejection criteria
- Samples held at ambient temperature for >48 hours
- Specimens violating the proper collection/storage protocols
